There's not much difference between being a vendor and being an employee of a vendor.
Vendors are treated differently on Hammock Forums - it is important that people understand if the person offering opinions is a vendor or the employee of a vendor.
Read section VII. Vendors of the Terms of Service for HammockForums.net, specifically, section B:
B. For these guidelines, a vendor includes someone who consistently sells gear for profit and publicly advertises the fact. A member who occasionally makes gear for other members, even for a small fee, is not considered a vendor. A vendor is not restricted to the owner of the business; representatives, sales personnel, and anyone receiving compensation from the company are considered vendors. Moderators will use their discretion in applying this definition.

To put it in more colloquial terms, if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck.
Apparently, Flyin Eyeball has revealed himself to be "anyone receiving compensation," and can be considered a vendor.
