For all you Tensa 4 or DIY Tensa owners ..........
Do you use a hammock CRL or do you rely on the Tensa ridgeline?
Or maybe you use both?
Inquiring minds want to know.

I use both, simply out of laziness. I use the Tensa4 RL to get the stand setup and once I hang my hammock I get in and don’t really want to get out of it and take the RL off.

I still use both. Makes setting up easier for me.

Todd at Tensa states you can do away with the stand ridge line once you have tweaked the setup. I still use both as well it makes set up and tear down easier.
I also subscribe to the department of redundancy department memo on always having a backup.
Interested to hear if anyone uses the hammock ridge line only. I suspect just about no one does.

Ditto, I use both for the reasons mentioned above. Stand RL simply makes setup easier.
I usually fiddle with the stand RL length such that the hammock and stand RLs are under similar tension when I'm laying in the hammock. That way, neither one sags down.
Stand ridgeline only, makes setup quick, easy, & consistent.
I use both, partly out of laziness, partly because.... actually it is all laziness.
I use the stand RL to help get it setup, then adjust it to generally match my hammock RL.
Also, there have been several times when it's just kind of nice having 2 RLs to hang things on.
DIY Tensa Stand here.
If I use my Brazilian hammock then only the stand RL.
If I use my camping hammock then both are used. I see no need to take the extra step to remove a RL that's part of the set up to begin with.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
