I just use my hammock's CRL. I got the Amsteel option on tensa and didn't find it at all difficult to get it adjusted to match correct distance for my hammock. I just had to play with it a bit and it was quite comfortable (I do use a 7/64 Amsteel CRL on my hammock for fwiw.)

Stand has a ridgeline so it can stay up with no hammock on it. Hammock ridgeline stays on because I see no reason to take it off.

On my DIY stand I used the stand Ridgeline as it was set up inside. When I got ready to go outdoors I hooked up the hammock ridgeline so it was at the proper length once I got outside.
