Hello everyone.
As stated, I'm new(ish) to hammock camping. That said, I have a couple 10 nights sleeping in a hammock under my belt. Enough so that I fully feel its going to be hard pressed for me to go back to sleeping in a tent and an air mattress! Not that I won't, I will still pitch a tent to camp with my 9 yr old and the cub scouts. He isn't comfortable sleeping in a hammock in the wild.. working on getting him there but it's a work in progress. I'm still learning about the setup, ridgelines, treestraps, whoopy slings, underquilts, overquilts, tarps and all of it... how many ridgelines do you normally have? One for the tarp, one for the bugnet, one for the hammock? It is still confusing to me.
Also, I just received the book Ultimate Hang,(barely started reading it) it's the first edition. Do I need to get the 2nd? How much more info is in it vs the 1st? Thanks for the bended ear..
