    Hello from West Texas.

Hello Everyone. I'm new to hanging but not to the outdoors.Longtime hunter, fisherman, and camper. A friend of mine from the PNW introduced me to hammocks on a hike. I loved the simplicity of it. I thought it would be a great way to camp while back country hunting in Colorado. Like many I started out with an amazon Chinamock. After a few issues I went to the internet.Grizz's a brief primer on hammock suspension led me here. The whole forum has been a very valuable influence. Thanks for having me.

Oh yes. There's definitely a lack of trees out here in the desert. You just have to get creative with your hang. And there's always my turtledog stand. Thanks for the welcome MJM.

Lots of options not too far from home. I hang a lot in the Sacramento’s. Cloudcroft is wonderful at 8000+ ft. The Guadelupe’s offer some beautiful spots but hanging trees are a bit sparse.

There are lots of opportunities a bit further west in the Gila as well. I also hang out with the Az hangers up on the Rim, in the Chiricahua’s and on Mt Lemmon.

Of course, Big Bend using a stand is a Great experience as well...

Traveling East towards San Antonio is also fun (Hill Country)....
