Thanks the comparison to cinch buckles and Whoopies helps.

Turtle Ties and 1“ Venom UHMWPE Ultralight Tree Straps. It works.

I just found this thread and these are very tempting. Additional colors I'd vote for are 1. purple, 2. blue, and 3. gunmetal. If I keep looking at these very long a pair is likely to drop into my shopping cart.

Intriguing. First time I've noticed this thread... and just in time for color options.

Think I'll give them a try, but even though aluminum is half the weight of titanium, I would feel a lot more secure on Ti. Especially considering I like to err on the side of caution and run 1/8" suspensions.

Might be the answer to my prayers on my tensa though. Minimum length going all the way down to the length of your bury is highly attractive.

Curves and edges are fine. With 1/8" CL's and suspension line through the same hole it's a really tight fit (was using new 1/8" so the CL's will likely compress down over time). Tested them, but didn't do an overnight hang with 1/8" yet.

Passing under the turtle arms... not a "great" (aka easy) fit, but it's doable. It pinches in with a good tug, but have to wonder what the impact is on the amsteel load rating. They were definately designed with 7/64" in mind.

I'm rather liking them. At the moment I run 2 sets, but still debating if I want to trade out UCR's for Turtles on the others. It's aluminum... and so small... my trust level hasn't "quite" risen high enough, but in time I just might.

This looks like a great idea is it chunky though? I mean how thick are they?
Love the choice of colours too.

Turtle Ties, a new hammock suspension option

I bought a pair of turtle ties back in November. I attached them to the continuous loops on the hammock and they stay put. They work great between trees combined with tree huggers, (I use a larks head to tie the amsteel to the sewn loop on the end of tree hugger). On my turtle dog stand and Tensa 4 stand I use a larks head to tie the amsteel to the anchor points.

IMHO: Between trees chinch buckles are still the easiest suspension to setup and adjust. Turtle ties are a very close second. When setting up under the turtle dog stand and tensa 4 stand, turtle ties take first place.
