I tried out my Turtle Ties today in the park today... I LOVE them! They are cute, light weight, and super easy to use.

I could imagine a market for a slightly larger version. The recent thread about using them on a bridge comes to mind. Maybe there are other applications as well. Don't know if a larger version would require ti to be strong enough for suspension use.

I really like them. They work well and they're fun besides.
Second this suggestion, I ordered a few to check them out, but the end need is for bridge hammock suspension. I would definitely like a set big enough for a bridge suspension.

Here's a Turtle Tie with 2 dog bones attached. Getting them situated nicely takes a bit of fiddling, but once in place and set with a load then they stay in place. This is how I do my bridge hammock and it works fine.

Yeah I got my bridge dogbones on there too. Takes a few extra seconds of maneuvering but they're on and fit well enough. I'd hate to see them made too big...bigger isn't bad, but they're *almost* perfectly sized now so it would be a marginal size bump to my thinking. Once you lay in your hammock the larks heads cinch right down.

Took my Turtle Ties out this weekend for their first overnight and they worked great! Easy to set and held without issue!

I did adjust them up and down a few times to dial in my hang. This wasn’t slow...but it wasn’t as quick and simple as I’d like either.

Long time Turtle Tie users, how are you adjusting these to dial in your hang angle? Any tips for a quick and simple adjustment?

I loved my Turtle Ties until they failed. I noticed the area of the Amsteel strands where it loops through the Turtle Ties was getting worn looking (after about 8-10 hangings), and yesterday the Amsteel broke and I hit the ground. Maybe it was because I had forgotten to do the final put-behind-the-turtle head previously (twice), which allowed the Amsteel to slide and may have weakened it. Anyway, I am no longer using them, which is sad because I did love them. Perhaps if you never make the mistake of forgetting to lock it in, it will not damage the Amsteel. I'm going back to the Spider Daisy Chains and Dutch's Mantis clips.

Just so I understand (cause I have a pair of these)…. When you didn’t put the final behind-the-turtle-head lock in place, I assume you then got in the hammock and what - were lowered to the ground? Then the Amsteel unwound through the Turtle Tie with a fair amount of friction possibly causing it to deteriorate?
And when you say the Amsteel broke… it literally cut into separate pieces?

Yes, exactly as you said, except "lowered to the ground" is a bit gentler than it happened... I didn't get hurt, but my kids got a good laugh.
Yes, the Amsteel was literally cut into 2 pieces.
I'm going on a camping trip next week, so I'm just glad that the fail happened in the park instead of in the woods!
