    Grayson Highlands/Mt Rogers Water Reliability

Going to be making my first trip to Grayson Highlands in a couple weeks and I have several water sources mapped but I'm getting curious about the reliability with how dry it has been and how dry the forecast is looking. Any risk of the water around Thomas Knob or Scales or the Wise Shelter not being available? Don't want to have to tote a bunch of water around if I don't have to. Thanks!

I just hiked through grayson highlands this summer. It was at the end of june though so not sure how helpful it'll be, but there was water every 12' it felt like. May be exaggerating that a bit but I couldnt believe how many streams and creeks we walked over. The springs were running fast though too which apparently wasnt common. It is the dry season here in NJ so not sure how all those streams are doing now, but they were everywhere.

I stayed just north of thomas knob shelter, the view eas incredible. I recommend staying there. There was a very tasty spring right behind the shelter.

Heres a shot at that camo spot i mentioned

That looks legit. Are there two hammock spots nearby?

That's gorgeous! Looks like that pony was wrecking your spot?
