Yep, tarp tensioners work great for those stretchy tarps. You may still get some sag, but you're minimizing the issue.

If your UQ is properly adjusted, the sides should rise above the hammock when not occupied. Just stretch out the TQ on the hammock and fold over each wall of the hammock on top. This should keep things from blowing away.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

If you have a hammock with a bug net (or a Dutchware summer sock like me) then it'll keep everything inside the hammock even if it blows around and/or flips over. You could also just try leaving your backpack in it when you get out (if your backpack is nasty then you'll want a bag of some sort to put it in.)

When I started Hanging I had a ENO Double Nest that I found in a hard core shop that had isles of guns of all sorts, commercial fishing gear and clothing. The ENO's were really inexpensive like under $15.00.

I loved Hanging, then we found HF. Back then most people were experimenting with Hanging. Lots of creative work was shared by HF Member's.

For most of us staying dry had a learning curve. I for one never thought I would be able to stay dry through a storm on the coast (my favorite place). I was washed out seveal times however with help from HF I figured it out. I have hung through some ferocious Oregon Coastal Storms.

Stuff falling out of your hammock...my pillow is attatched to thw head of my hammock, my quilts have a stretch cord hooked to the foot of my hammock, Quilt Hooks on one side of the hammock. Side bags or ridge line bags hold things like my light source, book, pen.

Learning is often the best part of a interest.

I’m far from best at staying dry
My tarp is large 13 ridgeline by 12 wide
I pitch it high for walking under without bending

Only four corners guyed out, usually to trees

With rain and some wind I drop all four corners low and cross them in front of trees I’m hanging on and then around back of trees

I probably should move tarp ridgeline closer to hammock ridgeline

And in severe winds I tie corners together and tie end loops together, allowing entire tarp and hammock to sway back and forth in wind anchored only by ridgeline
It looks like an old opened postal envelope hanging upside down over a line

I’ve got lots of lessons to learn and am doing asbestos I can
