    Hey PG...tnx for the reply. Yeah, I'm nog losing any sleep over it and bet I do more damage walking thru the woods or hanging my pack up then hanging from the trees....lol.
    I'm still wondering about the dudes drilling into rocks? lol

    Not to hi-jack the thread, but you're probably right in that it's something that should have seen the editing floor. NOT that they were doing anything illegal, but for the most part, power drilling permanent anchors is prohibited just about everywhere.... WITHOUT authorization or even an acutal permit.

    Some places still allow drilling, but most don't allow power drills... only hand drilling.

    In the video there's no reason to believe they didn't have authorization or permit to power drill, but it "is" a pretty touchy subject and better left out of the public eye.

    That's not to say that there aren't some bad apples that sling mud on everyone else participating in that particular activity, though.


    Back to our regularly scheduled program.

    I did it the old way with a hand drill and hammer, about 30 min per hole.

    Ok, agree this should be another thread re: rocks and trees. Just think water in holes, then freezing temps over time do damage....over a real long time. Gotta believe God made trees to withstand us hammock folks too. Didn't mean to go off topic
