I couldn't find a picture showing the pitch but this is a picture of me in the hammock. My weight has me lowered enough to not touch the tarp but it touches the tarp if I get out.

This is my drastic storm height. Yoirbthindertarp like this should be about 8" from the ground if your not hung too high.

Next trip I'm on I'll set up in storm mode to see what it looks like. Been a couple years since my last really bad storm.

Here is my buddies edge tarp pretty low. But would be more drastic angle for a bad storm.

To my eye the tarp ridgeline is very high, why? Am I wrong? It looks to be on the tree 2 feet above the hammock suspension. If I was rain, I'd see that as an invitation to come in. I'm sure I'm an idiot and that's the only way to do it with that tarp, caternary cuts or something. Please enlighten me everyone.

It looks like that, but if you click on it to see the full size image you can see the hammock suspension high and tarp line is much lower (yellow).

What you see is his Woopie hammock suspension. His tarp suspension is straight in line with tarp ridgeline.

Aha, got it. Still looks like the ridgeline on the ends is "open", but I see what you're saying.

I have warm and dry weather for a trip starting tomorrow, but I'm packing at least the Thunderfly. I learned my lesson!

See how low and tight you can get the tarp. Fun to move it around. My height on my tarp. Hanged in bad weather vs steady rain.
