Thanks Shug for the cool video. I did a section hike of the PCT in August and met lots of thru hikers. Very inspiring to hear their stories.

I always sorta envy them when I chat with them. Other than their pew. Then I get a whiff of myself!!!!

I really enjoyed this one! The SHT is on my bucket list of trails. That was very cool of you running into Annie Nelson. You made her blog! I've been following her NCT adventures on her webs and YouTube sites Wild Stories, since she's covered a lot of the same ground I have in Michigan.

We did stand a nd chat a good while. So nice she gave me such nice words. I admire her fortitude.

That first pic is a crown tipped coral mushroom. They look freaky but are one of the tastiest edibles.

It's a fun side hobby for hikers but never eat wild mushrooms without cooking them and being 100% sure what they are. Also, make sure it is legal to pick them where you hike.

It was so fun to look at. I never pick or eat them....just admire them as lil' works of art.

Thanks Shug. Always enjoy coming along with you. Your comments about the rigor of the trail caught my ear. I'm beginning to feel old age coming on and see limits that 10 years ago were invisible. You'd said the trail ranged from moderate to more difficult. Then I saw that you'd hiked 27.6 miles in two days. That's a pretty respectable distance. Wow. Keep on keeping on.

I think I am slowing down but that was a demanding stretch of trail looking back. I was whupped when I got back to the car. Also soaked all the time walking from humidity...worse than usual.

Thanks Shug, great video! I have to admit, my favorite parts (not just your videos, but others too) are the views of different mushrooms/fungi. They are their own beautiful little things, and fascinating to look at. We don't have most of those same varieties here in Utah.
