I’m not ultra light either, but I’ve gotten to the point where I use everything I pack except for first-aid stuff and finish trips with almost no food. (Note I’m not remote on these trips so running out of food isn’t a big deal.) So I’m starting to look at what it means to go UL and this thread has been great! The emphasis on looking at it from a system perspective was very helpful, as well as the “try it at least once” attitude. For example I highly doubt I will go no cook, but I think it would be fun to try it, as part of a height of summer “stupid light” trip.
