Banana Hammock has arrived, need a little help

Happy to get my new hammock, happier still to learn something new.

It arrived just as I ordered it (no suspension), but I'm not exactly sure of my next step. Do I need to wrap some sort of whipping around the loose ends to hold them together, or am I OK with just putting either a CL or whoopie sling around the ends as they are now with no whipping? My Eldorado has no whipping, but I'm not sure if there's anything inside the sewn hems at the ends past the CL, they seem pretty solid but it may just be the hems all bunched up.

The red cord in the pics are the bishop bag draw strings, the hammock ends are sticking out (looks kind of like a tootsie roll).

I would have thought the hammock would have at least come with something to connect your suspension to. You'll need something like a continuous loop to attach your suspension to.

It's just the hammock, no CL or SRL. Not a big deal, it's just that this is new territory for me. I can make a SRL no problem I just need a bit of advice on what to do with the ends before I attach the suspension.

You can pass a continuous loop through the sewn channel and larkshead it to itself. This is the standard practice of attachment. Check this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8efnNIw33Y

You can run a continuous loop or whoopie through the sewn channels.

Hum... It looks like it's continuous loop for the win.

So it's safe to assume the channels are load bearing and the CL/Whoopie Sling doesn't need to be wrapped around the gathered end "below" any whipping?

Yes, that's correct. The channels are meant to be load bearing. Run a CL or a whoopie sling through it and you're all set.
