    WBBB footbox question

Since 2012 the Blackbird has been my goto hammock (when bugs are out). I never understood what was going on with the footbox but didn't question it since it was comfortable. The fabric just hangs over my feet. Am I just not tall enough to "push" this out of the way? I would ask about lying closer to that end, but I'm comfortable as is and believe I'm already in the ideal position. I can't do any more angle either. With my top quilt in there it "fills" that area more, but still seems odd.

Here a pic of what I mean:

I forgot to mention, this is the standard 10'. Same with my old version from 2012 (pictured is the newer one from last year)

I have an XLC and have not had it too long, but it's been set up continuously in my garage since I got it. I don't notice the fabric flopping over as much as shown, but I also have a Wooki on it, which is cut to match the contours of the footbox. Looks like you have an Incubator set up there, which could have something to do with it? Or maybe mine is equally floppy and I just haven't noticed. It could have something to do with your height, as you said. I'm a little taller - 6'1".

That is odd? Maybe that’s just a standard WBBB issue. I have the XLC and don’t experience anything like that.

It does this with or without the UQ. I think at 6'1" it wouldn't do this. If I point my toes and stretch out the material starts to get taut and go away.

I think the issue is the angle you are laying, your shoulder should be beside the WB emblem the head end, your feet should push more into the foot box area. I thought I had a picture but I already sent it to the cloud, I will try to find it and send it!

Thanks I'd like to see! I've been using my original since 2012 and don't think any other angle would work. The first 6 months took some time to adjust and get things dialed in to reduce calf ridge and everything else. I actually settle right into the sweet spot no matter where I start out throughout the night. My shoulder is right at the logo.

If you're comfortable, just ignore it. The fabric falls like that when you're not using the full width of the hammock. If you either move a bit more to your right side, or lie a bit more diagonal, the fabric should tighten. I sometimes lie a bit more to the left edge, and then the footbox looks the same as yours. I guess if the loose fabric would bother you, you could probably tie it out.

I think it is normal and recommended.
I have been laying in my Blackbird (SL) using all the width, increasing my diagonal lay to its edges, then I noticed pretty tiny holes along the seams between the fabric and the bugnet. I was advised to increase the height of the foot end and scoot toward the head end in order to keep my feet away from edge of the footbox.
It works, but anyway it decreases the diagonal lay and I'm afraid that while sleeping I could put some stress on the seams. Now my footbox looks like your picture.
