    Hello from Minnesota!

    Hello All,

I'm a new backpacker from the Twin Cities area. I started out watching YouTube videos of Sintax77 and good old Shug. I had never seen anyone camp with a hammock until watching them and I knew instantly that it looked like a great way to go. I still have a super cheap Oak Creek hammock I got on amazon and its getting the job done just fine for now. I hope to pay dutch a visit in the near future and get properly outfitted. I was inspired to try making my own videos and share my backpacking journey on YouTube. If you're interest check my channel "Signal Outdoors".

    See you around the forum,
    Aaron

I've had great interactions with Dutch and also RipstopByTheRoll. I got my tarp from UnderGroundQuilts (UGQ).

I use Hennesy Hammock snake skins, 2QZQ peakbag, and NamaClaws on my tarp ridgeline.

I'm over in Wisconsin and we get a bunch of MN folks who come over for WI hangs. You'll have to check out BACONFEST 2020 at Lake Wissota SP for sure. That's the closest one to you (that I know of right now).

Welcome to HF! If you're new to hammocking, take time to read through all the stickies and digest the info. It's easy to drown in all the recommendations and opinions, but their is an invaluable cornucopia of information here!! Also, keep a tight reign on your wallet...cash tends to fly freely out of mine while perusing all the cottage vendors!!

Welcome to the forums, but be warned. This pastime will end up costing a fair amount of money

All great stuff!I'll check it out. I've heard of UGQ and they seemed pretty reasonable.
