I like so store my suspension separately from my hammock. I use DW Beetles w/ spider poly straps, mostly because it's completely modular and simple. My suspension is stored in a small mesh sack, separate from my hammock. This way, if it's wet, sappy, etc - I can store it without contaminating any of my other gear. I personally like the ability to hang my suspension first, hook my hammock to it, and unfold it form the double-ended stuff sack. YMMV. HYOH!!

Do you store your suspension with your hammock or separately?

    Separately in a sap sack.

Separate. I like the ability to store them in the outside pouch when they get wet. I'm always slightly concerned that I'll forget to bring them or leave them on the trees but so far that hasn't happened. Probably because I'm so paranoid about it that I'm constantly double checking that I have them ;-)

If your strap stuff sack is bright orange and you biner it to the straps at the tree, there is less chance you'd miss it on your "last pass" though camp. I left about $20.00 worth of hardware/straps on the trees when I first stated out. It was so painful that I really, really check now and usually, if I'm hiking with someone else, task them with the responsibility too. Like I'll put the gear up, but they help take it down AND make sure it all gets back home.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

Always together. Mainly so my entire hammock setup is all in one place.

Up until now, I hadn't even considered storing them separately and I'm amazed so many people are doing it the "wrong" way.

Mind you, I'm usually hanging from either gum trees or similar and sap has never been an issue.

Separate, with the tree straps in a small sack stored in the outside pack pocket.
Happy trails to you until we meet again.

Separate. Probably not so much because I care about sap or water, but because I have 6 different hammocks and multiple suspensions as well. I grab whatever hammock I want and combine it with the suspension that I am in the mood for.

Always together, since I'd be sure to leave something behind otherwise. Never had sap issues, but I'll have to think about handling that when the time comes.
