    3/4 Length Yeti Adjustment

I have a 3/4 length Yeti which seems to be hanging too low on my Warbonnet Blackbird: leaving an air gap between my hammock and my under quilt. I am mounting the Under Quilt to the hammock the way the How-To video on the Warbonnet site instructions indicate. On my last trip, I just tied an overhand knot in to shorten the shock cord and this seemed help a little. There must be a better way though.

Anyone else experience this or have thoughts?

    Thank you
    Caleb

This is one of the problems I had with 3/4 quilts and quilts on gathered end hammocks in general. Quilt hooks help:
    https://dutchwaregear.com/?s=quilt+h...t_type=product
as do pack hooks that come on some hammocks.

Otherwise tighten that suspension or loop in over the ends a few loops should help.

Without seeing any pictures, it sounds like the primary suspension needs to be shortened. If you're not using a 10' or 11' hammock, you will definitely need to shorten the suspension. Most cottage vendors make their UQ suspensions to accommodate 11' hammocks. That said, all of my UQs are 3/4 length, and I have never had an issue getting them to fit properly.

Make the main suspension even tighter. The Yeti should lift the hammock up higher than one would imagine without you in the hammock. Then adjust by increments from there.

Thank you for the reply. I couldn't find any pictures of the UQ. I have several of the setup with the fly on, but that doesn't help. I am using the Warbonnet Blackbird with the Warbonnet Yeti though.

Thank you for the reply. I think you are correct I need to tighten the suspension.

The UQ does lift the hammock a little, but I guess it needs to be more. Thank you for the reply Shug, I always enjoy your videos.

In the video below you can see how high the UQ should go when tightened at 1:33 into the video.
