Welp, Sertoma was mighty fine last year.
For those of us willing to help setup this year, when is the earliest we can arrive?

Since Sertoma is a private campground, you can actually come in anytime you want.... you just have to pay them. I think it's $15/day in primitive and $30/day in sites with hookups.
If you want to show up on Tuesday 1/14 (or sooner) you can make your plans with Sertoma directly. We officially have our space from Wednesday 1/15 on, so if you come in then, you'll be on HangCon's ticket. That's why we need to be as exact as we can regarding how many folks we have each day. Therefore, please adhere to our policy of signing in upon arrival .

Yikes! The drive from Jax is only about an hour longer than the Doe Lake venue (my drive went from just under 2 hours to just under 3), but Orlando is definitely closer.

Another option is Tampa International Airport. It’s about an hour’s drive north from there (once you’ve beaten the downtown traffic). Straight shot on I-275N to I-75N. Take the Blanton Exit and you’re about 3-4 miles away from the site.

I can believe that the reservation got lost for one year but two years in row makes me think they don't want hangers at Doe Lake any more.

I am not attending but hope everything goes ok.

So on top of doing a Reflectix cozzie DIY class. I was curious if anyone had any other DIY classes ideas. Debated possibly bringing a sewing machine and doing a hammock chair tutorial. I know Dutch has usually does a splicing class in the past. Possibly a Fancy Feast stove tutorial. Anyone else got any ideas or might also want to run or help run a class?

We are going back to Sertoma!

HangCon will NOT be at Doe Lake this year.

Every year, so we can be as prepared as we can for HangCon, Gumbo and I do a scouting trip to Doe Lake. Yesterday, for reasons that nobody seems to know, the Doe Lake Campground hosts (who are super nice folks) tell us that Doe Lake is booked for weddings through all of January and we are not even in their system. The bottom line: Doe Lake is not available after all.

Therefore...

HangCon 2020 will be at Sertoma Youth Ranch in Brooksville, Florida. This is the same spot we had last year.

Please reach out to everyone you know who's coming to HangCon, and confirm that they know to go to Sertoma and NOT DOE LAKE!!!

The venue has changed but HangCon 2020 has not. We will see yall at Sertoma Youth Ranch. Unfortunately I will not be able to conduct our Friday hike so anyone wanting to go on a hike, hopefully someone will step up and lead the hike.

Please don't forget to bring a canned or packaged good for the food drive. Thanks in advance.
