    BWCA Trip Complete and Amazing!

Just finished our Boundary Waters Canoe trip and we had an amazing time! We took our Hummingbird double hammock, HG Dyneema Tarp, and HG Pheonix Underquilts, I also brought the EE top Quilt. It rained a little nearly every day but also amazing sunshine. Never got cold or wet, sat under a CCS tarp on Helinox and Big Agnes chairs sipping G7 coffee and eating Coffee Crisp candy bars! We watched a couple of Bald Eagles trying to teach their young to fish without much luck. There were two Swans that seemed to follow us around and we even got to watch an otter play in the river.
We started on entry point #14 Little Indian Sioux River and found a great campsite on Lower Pauness Lake.

Nice! I hope to get up there someday. Did you encounter any blackflies, or is their season over now?

No bugs at all really. We use the Thermacell and our clothes are sprayed with permethrin.

Nice, I have always wanted to go up to paddle in the BWCA. Maine is a lot closer to me though! Some day I will get up there. Thanks for sharing.

BWCA is one of my favorite places! Thanks for sharing the pictures. I’ll be up that way in a few weeks but on the SHT. Be looking forward to not having any mosquitos around!

Thanks Shug, I watched your video before we left. We ate at Stoney Ridge Café in Ely(incredible burger) and also Gordy's HiHat (more incredible burgers and a Blackberry Shake)on the way back through Cloquet so thanks for the tips!

I just got back from a week long trip to the BW. We went in 9/4-9/10. Our group of 3 had a great time with good fishing and pretty good weather. I think my 2 camp mates were a little jealous when they saw my RR/Superfly combo setup in porch mode! They are both tent guys but maybe not next year. I try to do 2 trips to the BW every year, one in spring and fall. I have to say I think I enjoy the fall trip a bit more, better weather and less bugs.
