    Wbbb neck ridge solution?

The last few days I've encountered a problem with a ridge going behind my head in my wbbb. I don't know what changed, as I'm pretty sure my suspension angles are right, and my foot end is about a foot higher than the head end. Tension is good as far as I know, but this ridge came out of nowhere and it feels like I'm resting my skull on a rope. Does anybody know what could be causing this?

If at first you don't succeed, don't go skydiving.

Maybe the ridgeline stretched a bit? Try looping the ridge line a turn or two around a mini-biner.

Deleted first response. Not enough coffee when I typed my thoughts.
As to WBBB, try to center your buttocks in the hammock better perhaps.

I believe OP is refering to a WB BlackBird not the RidgeRunner. Guess old shug got confused or I'm not getting the reference.

Just ruling out the obvious: has the end elastic of your underquilt got under your head?

Nah, that was one of the first things I checked.

I've shifted my...posterior, all over the place and it didn't make a difference. But I believe I found the problem, hopefully. I downloaded a protractor app on my phone and checked the angle of my suspensions, found they were above a 40 degree slope. I guess my index finger and thumb don't quite pull off the 30 degree angle.

    Edit: pardon the double post.

The BB needs more of a 20°-25° hang, but you can totally ignore angles. That's what the ridgeline is for. You only have to remember the tension of the ridgeline. Warbonnet recommends a fairly tight ridgeline:

But I've heard that some people prefer a very loose ridgeline.

A ridge under your head is caused the same way as the calf ridge. My guess is that you changed your position slightly. Try positioning your head more inline with your torso.

However, I recently came across a case, where part of the hammock fabric had slipped out of the whipping. This caused a skewed lay. So maybe check if your whipped ends are still OK.

Hey everybody, thanks for the suggestions. I solved the problem. The ridge was caused by the suspension angles being way too steep.

I went ahead and rephrased my post to make you feel more comfortable.
