New 2019 Amok Draumr standard vs XL

Hey friends. Can anyone confirm if the new standard size Draumr has the same design features as the XL (revised smaller foot box, bug-net-over-ridgeline, stick pocket thingies for head & foot, etc. etc.)?

I’m 5’10, 200lbs, wide shouldered. Sometimes I feel a little squeezed in my Ridgerunner so might give an Amok a try. I like the idea of the standard for slightly less weight and can try some of the mattresses I already have, and my Superfly tarp.

Yes, the Draumr (formally known as the 3.0) is identical to the XL.
They have a pre order for the new camouflage color.

I've seen the emails on the new camo. I'm not a camo guy myself, but I think the pattern they're using is really cool and unique. I'd be tempted to go that route if I didn't already have an XL.

Thanks! I actually just heard back from Amok on Faceblast and they confirmed as much.

So question back to you friends... is the XL worth the extra weight, or should I grab the standard given that I fit? They’re both plenty wide and spacious it seems.

Also if you had the choice would you stick with their mattress for $100 or go elsewhere?

If you dont need the xl size, then dont

Xl NEEDS their fjol, the regular can use any appropriate pad

Fjol is a decent pad, at a decent price.

I am 5 10 and have owned both. Go with the xl. I found the regular version too small. The extra room is worth the weight.

Thanks Shug. If you were buying new, would you go for the standard then? I’m mostly kayak, bike and dirtbike camping so a few ounces isn’t a killer, but less bulk is always better. Comfort still trumps all though.

Not sure. The first evolutions of the Draumr were only offered in regular and they are always improving. But I do like the room in the XL.
