I just received my Haven and at first glance very interesting. It is different than a lot of other rigs for sure.
Could be made lighter by switching out biners, straps. The tarp is small and not built into it as many assume. But if you want you could use any hammock type tarp if you want to have more tarp over you.

You lay straight as you would in a bridge hammock but it is not a bridge hammock.

For sure needs the pad and the side to side baffles on the pad are a must.
It is very narrow at my shoulders but I am going to try a bit longer spreader bar today to experiment. I hope he ends up making it more shaped like a WB Ridgerunner where it is wider at the head end.
For me, sitting up for breakfast from the hammock could be a challenge!!!! But I do need to fool around with the whole thing a lot more before making judgements.

Really nice for a ground bivy option for sure. It shines there.

I like that at least it is something different.

    More to come......

Would you clarify the "side to side" pad baffles? Tubes longitudinally or horizontally as one lays on the pad? Does it have shoulder squeeze similar to the WBRR? I'm looking forward to more reviews and info on this novel design.

Yes, just had a nap it it and have more feelings. Can't expect this to feel like a gathered end or bridge. Liking it and wanting to like it.

A bit of squeeze but felt like less today as I found a better sweet spot lay. But it could be a bit wider from waist up.

You can see the pad baffles in the photos. Tubes run elbow to elbow instead of head to toe.

Hey Shug, What would you say is the minimum ridgeline length for a four season tarp to be a suitable combination with the haven? Say, hammock gears winter palace.

I think that would be plenty big. Length is 78 inches.
Not measured the Haven but I think I would use my own tarps as opposed to the one provided.

I like the idea - the physics of it. However, without even trying it, I think it would need to be wider, maybe a tad longer . . . and therefore, also made lighter . . . for it to work for me.

I will say that if you make a camping/backpacking shelter-sleep system that is light, comfortable, and durable and you only miss out on all of us 6’4” 240 pound guys, you’re going to have a huge success.
