Hey Rocky, thanks for sharing the vid. I find every single detail of your design more and more impressive . Congratulations again!

I already finished the scale model for fitting a 100 liters backpack and next weekend I start with the real size (80" x 25"). Also designed a "hybrid" version to be able to use the hammock-tent with a classic mat (no air).

    Happy AP trail. Cheers!

Be sure to make your ridge line adjustable to get the lay you want... I am not sure how you will keep it flat side to side with a closed cell mat but I am always willing to learn! Happy Trailz!

I really appreciate the advice. Initially want to perform the first tests in real size with a rollercam buckle, having determined the optimal tension the idea was to leave a fixed ridgeline strap length, but will pay special attention to that, thanks!

I have had enough bad experiences with air mats and have come to the conclusion that am a "Murphy-expert" in finding a thousand different ways to blow them up, which over long distances (or lost on an off-road trek in Patagonia) is a serious problem... Based on Maverick Gear's design it is possible to implement a 300 gram (10.6 oz) folding structure (side to side, tubular straps + CF profiles) that works with a 400 gram closed cell mat (14 oz); in the end there is no total weight saving compared to the air mat, but my risks are drastically reduced .

    Cheers!

I am curious if either Rocky or Solo Hiker have measurements of the various fabric pieces and if you'd be willing to share. I've been pondering making a setup like this but haven't bit the bullet yet and instead am still sewing my "normal" hammocks (I make them for family and friends, basically an Ariel with zippered bug net, though with mule tape instead of amsteel).
Bridge hammock. Mostly DIY for gear. Three sons camp with me (14yrs, 11yrs, 9yrs).

I have not had time yet to bring my scale model to reality, so before posting pieces and measurements on the forum I need to verify that everything works as planned. It will arrive during this month of June (...I hope...). Cheers!

PS Here, a tiny little starter...

    Lighten Haven

I've slept a couple nights in my back 40 in the Haven now and kinda-sorta adjusted to it. Derek sent me the new upgraded leak-proof tarp and the new insulated pad.
I prefer more options on tarps and don't like the grommets very much on the Haven Tarps. Doable, but I am a hammocker who is sorta set in his ways.
Rigged my 11' Blackcrow tarp and switched out the heavy biners on Haven to Dutch Biners. Added whoopie slings and tree straps instead of heavy daisey chain suspension.

    Much lighter.
I do love how easy it sets up as a ground bivy.
So far no condensation from the pad.

It’s funny how the more you see it, the more interesting it seems.

How did the width feel overnight? I'm pretty thin, 5'10", 150 lbs, so I think it'll be okay. I'm also a side sleeper which helps
