I noticed a handful of these, for lack of a better word, "snags" in my bugnet this weekend and I'm not sure how they happened. I haven't snagged the zipper in it and can imagine anything else that may have caused it.
Looking for any advice on what I can do "or stop doing" so I don't get anymore of them.

I have a ton of those in my summer sock. It’s super lightweight bug mesh and yes it is weird. I bought a chameleon with a symmetrical bug net which is made out of heavier screen. I’m kind of glad it is.

It looks like bunching of the netting- which is common with lighter weight mesh. You should be able to rub these out with your finger/thumb. It doesn't look like anything is ripped.
Like the other replies have mentioned, I have a couple of those here and there on various mesh products. I've never noticed it on any of my Warbonnet nets which are heavier, but I do have them on my Dutchware bottom entry bugnet and one of my Chameleon nets. My best guess is they occur during the process of stuffing them into a storage sack. As rweb82 mentioned, you should be able to smooth them out to some extent with your fingers if you care to.
I too think you could just smooth them out. Something to do whilst you lay there.

Stretching the fabric gently on each bias should help re-align the weave.
I have a lot of those in all kinds of nets, and as far as I can tell, it's simply moved threads. In my case, it happens mostly where I hang my glasses over the ridgeline. The wire probably pokes the net a bit. But I have also seen these after using Ridgeline Quilt Hooks, small biners and other hardware. I don't worry about them, and leave them as they are.
