    Cedar Ridge Outdoors service

I met Warren from CRO at last year's Lighthouse and Lobster Hang. The gear he brought was really well made and he seemed like a stand-up guy. I wanted a tarp with doors so I ordered a Winter Refuge from them a couple of weeks ago. I sent Warren an email today (a holiday) and asked if there was a chance I could get the tarp in time for this year's L&L hang. He called and emailed me in less than an hour assuring me that he would personally sew the tarp and ship it overnight so I could bring it to the hang.

    Thanks Warren!

The tarp just arrived. It will be used for the first time at the Lighthouse and Lobster Hang tonight.

    Thanks Warren and CRO.

Awesome! I was worried it wouldn’t make it in time.

Great talking with you at L&L John! Remind me if you will - do you have bungee cord strung between your poles to keep them in place?

Don't know if I mentioned it, but I tried to use my poles on my tarp, but couldn't get them to fit right -they were pulling really tense one way, and then they wouldn't stay when I tried it another way - but I hadn't tried using bungee to keep them in their place.

    Thanks,

Are you using a continuous ridgeline? If so do you hang the tarp under or over the ridgeline?
The internal poles work best when using a continuous ridgeline with the tarp hung over the ridgeline. The top of the poles should be between the ridgeline and the tarp. The pressure and ridgeline in this position holds the poles in place.

Unless you’re talking about the Tensa Pole Mods, in that case I’ll defer because I’m not sure on that one.

I'm guessing she may be asking about this sort of setup. The shock cords are fixed length and under mild tension, which prevents the poles from falling inward.
No disrespect intended by using another vendor's image in this thread about Cedar Ridge.

    Hi CRO dude

I do use a continuous ridgeline, but usually my tarp is under the ridgeline. Interestingly, before the hang, I'd tried them out during a day session with my tarp, and it worked fine, with tarp strung under line. However, during the hang, a buddy suggested I put the tarp over the line, and even then, the poles didn't sit right. I have a feeling I know what happened, so now I just need to take a bit to re-string and try again, this time using bungee to keep them in place.
