P47Chowhound thinks grilling bacon is acceptable - that is verboten for me. Bacon is meant to be cooked crispy, not leathery. Njredneck is the ultimate bacon cooker - he knows how to cook bacon!
I seem to recall an incident in recent years where Chris G. had issues cooking bacon? Can't remember the details but there was a large fire/flameout. NJRedneck's cast iron lid was definitely involved.

All the joking and teasing aside, a note about food/meals:
NJR, Ratdog, and I have got all the backend logistics ironed out, with SS providing a few essentials (he's our coffee and Salsa Verde hookup). Fear not - we'll have everything technically needed for breakfast and dinner Saturday, so no one needs to feel obliged to bring anything, and we promise no one will go hungry!
That said, anyone is more than welcome to bring food to add to the bounty for either meal, and we'll graciously accept. If it's all ready to go, great. If it needs cooking or prepping, we're happy to handle that part as well. We'll shoot for eating dinner around 6-6:30, if everything goes according to plan. Breakfast time will be determined by how good a nights sleep we get, and when the coffee is ready.
Important Note
Please make sure that if you bring anything, you make note of any potential food allergens - we've got a few people attending that are gluten intolerant, and at least one nut allergy. I've yet to have to put my Wilderness First Aid cert to use in the field, and I'd prefer this not be the trip to test it.
Look forward to seeing everyone, in less than a week!

Breakfast meats I've had at group hangs:
1) Mattyoc20 - cures his own bacon. I hope you can try it before you die.
2) NJRedneck - can fry bacon better than anybody in history. Every piece is crispy, and perfectly cooked in bacon fat.
3) Fallkniven - Sometimes fallkniven brings a whole Pork Roll (or Taylor Ham, or whatever you want to call it). I guess you gotta be from Jersey to love pork roll. It might not be healthy, but it definitely tastes good.
4) Aircoder - Once we let an orthodox Jew (aircoder) cook our breakfast bacon - bad idea. Bacon is specifically prohibited by his religion, and we let him cook our bacon. Why would anyone assume he had bacon expertise? Every piece of bacon was leathery. And then, he poured the bacon fat on the fire, which soaked my tarp (over the fire) in bacon fat. Five years later, my tarp still smells like bacon. My tarp is very popular with bears and other critters.
5) P47Chowhound - "grilled" bacon - Just toss it on the grill, let it get nice and leathery, and eat it. Worst bacon experience of my life.
6) NJRedneck's pre-cooked sausage - well, no comment.

We were introduced to pork roll a few years back. Some friends who came from NJ introduced us. We have an emergency supply in our chest freezer. It can be purchased at our local supermarket now ironically! The owner must be from NJ...
