Being all sites are currently reserved is there any type of parking or other permit that I need to get? I'm assuming so since it is a state park.
    Nope!

The only parking concern is that we have to keep the main road/route through camp clear. And technically we're only supposed to have a max of 2 cars parked at each site, and overflow should park out by the water pump - but quite honestly we've never had an issue on that front in all the years we've been using Batona.

Since we book all (or nearly all in this case) the sites, we essentially secure the entire camp for our use. From there, everyone can just arrive, find a set of trees that's not being used (doesn't much matter if they're in the site you reserved or not), park your car nearby to unload and set up, and then if needed move your car so that it's not blocking the road through camp.

    Look forward to meeting you!

So who reserved site 9? Hopefully someone in our group.

Nope - site 9 was reserved for Saturday night only before we got started.

Same thing happened last year - but if I recall correctly they drove into camp, saw the full house, and left. Guess we’ll see.

I'm surprised we have 6 women signed up for the hang - that's like 1/5th of the total population signed up! Welcome women!

OK, I'm in. I'm a newbie hanger. Been ground dwelling for as long as I can remember. So, I expect my novice hangin' antics might provide some entertainment

The bar is pretty high for entertaining us - there are many noobs before you who did humorous things. Like matthiastrek, who used a nine-foot tarp with an 11 ft. hammock - that didn't work out too well. Or greensoldier, who had a unique idea that the closer to the ground you hung, the warmer you would be (never saw him again - I wonder why). Or the infamous vagabound, who purchased a new 0* UQ, and left his TQ at home because it was too heavy. Imagine trying to stay warm in 17* weather with just an UQ!

    Yep, the bar is high.
