Is the calf ridge or stretch in my hammock material causing cold spots.

I have a homemade 12 foot hammock made out of hyper D xl and a hammock gear Econ 20 underquilt. I have camped a total of 10 nights in my hammock, and I constantly get cold spots especially if their is a breeze. I can’t figure out where I’m loosing my heat. Is it possible because my hammock material stretches, that it would cause cold spots? Or could the calf / knee ridge be causing gaps between my quilt and hammock?

I asked because I am - Hammock Gear seems to be 6"-10" shorter in width. I had same problem but don't with Underground Quilts Zeppelin.

In fact I just sold the 0* Incubator to finance my new 0* Zeppelin. Can't wait for winter to try her out

Strange thing is both my brother and me have the same setup. The only difference is that he has a hammock made out of parachute material.

Did you get the econ or did you go premium? I believe the upgrade had beefier shock cord which my Zeppelin did and the Incubator did not.

This crossed my mind too but I think on my side I push out the sides and the Incubator just didn't cover all the way. Or Maybe a combo problem of the 2 - not wide enough and suspension not strong enough.

    Your brother has no issues?

I'm in no way expert but to me what you suggest sounds plausible (especially if that's the only difference between your and your brother's setup). If your hammock fabric stretches, your body creates more severe bumps, which in turn press your underquilt down and could cause gaps elsewhere.
