I think I'm going to make it as well. Coming in Friday but not sure of the time. I think I'll be coming from Pats to enjoy the scenery.

Good to see you could carve out some time to come out again.

Let us know of your intent and what trail you pick and the time in case someone else would like to hike in with a partner.

    A) O-Boy

O-Boy, if you come on out, can you make it on Thursday afternoon/evening? Gravey, greyhound352 and I are coming out Thu. The evening/sunset hike in is real nice and a lot of fireflies in the prairie at twilight.

    Just as a reminder:

Almost time to get out there. Make sure you prepare for hot days. We should have enough water filters if you want to borrow some off our "water tree". There are no planned meals and bringing a camp kitchen with utensils is difficult since it's hard to get a Florida Sherpa out here. You're on your own for meals. Also, remember it's primitive camping. This means there are no toilet facilities. Practice LNT(Leave No Trace) whenever possible. This includes your.... waste.

And yes. Please feel free to get some camp chores done like collecting firewood, collecting others(read- lazy, self important....) garbage, collect firewood, collect water from pond for filtering and collecting firewood.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

I'm seeing lows possibly at 68...FWIW, I camped at Hidden Pond with a low forecasted at 67 at Juniper Springs... Didn't think I'd need and UQ... Well I'm a really warm Sleeper, but that night I froze... Plan accordingly

So true. Even for the No Underquilt Hang in July, I still get that chill around 3am lots of times. So I always hang my UQ and set it to the side. If I get cold, I slide it under me and fall back asleep nice and warm. If there's a breeze when I go to sleep, I will automatically deploy it so I don't wake with a chill.

My clothes, backpack, hat and shoes are still hanging in my porch airing out from the permethrin I applied Sunday. The rest is waiting in the house. It'll take less than 10 minutes to pack it all up.

Where's the food. I see a yellow food bag. It looks quite... lacking.

I'm trying to be good. It's probably more food than it looks. Plus I figure Oz will have 8 or 9 family size oreos boxes to share hahaha.

I'm definitely not as light as Phoenix is, pack is a little heavy at 25 lbs. Loaded pack last night but redoing this morning, hope to leave about noon to head that way. See everyone at camp.

Looks like I won’t be getting out there till 12:30 or 1:00. I am thinking maybe I should come in from Pat’s Island to get more cover since I will be hiking in the heat. It is a longer hike, but I got my pack pretty light except for water and food.
The essential part of me can not be discussed here. Ask me in person.
