Looks like we dodged a major Hurricane once again. The Summer's Last Gasp Hang is still a go.

There are plenty of trees for many hikers that don't mind a few miles into the Florida Piney Woods.

If you're not sure about this hammock thing, bring your tents and check out the other rigs we use. We love to share our thoughts. Oh boy do we love to share and share and share.

The days are getting shorter and the afternoon temps are starting to cool off. Come on out and join us.

Oh man... so sad I'm not going to be able to make this. I was really looking forward to a the fall ONF hang to get to meet some of the other FL hangers. But I'll be in Hawaii on a big family vacation. At least I'll get to hang there a fair bit

That sounds awesome. Unfortunately I will be out of the state. Fortunately I will be in Yellowstone.

    Lots of pictures folks!

That is a great secondary prize.

Anyone that is looking forward to hanging out in Florida, there are many hangs coming up before HangCon 2020.
Keep an eye out for the planning threads in Ocala National Forest in Central Florida and Lake Wales Ridge State Forest in the South. There will also be other locations thru out the state for some other great hangs.

If you can make this hang, come on down. Even if you can only make 1 night, it's better than none at all.

So Trex has to take his wife to the doctor and Carryon can get of work...tried telling them that they need to get their priorities strait, so i guess it will just be me. Hidden Pond Short. Friday-Sunday. Might even go Thursday night to Juniper to get on the trail early, but no matter how early I plan it always ends up being about 9am.

Lately, no matter how hot it's been in the middle of the day, the evenings have been cool with a nice breeze. And a lower than normal humidity has also felt great. Come on out with us and learn for yourself why we love the Florida Piney Woods at the end of Summer.
