Shug and his influence...

Every time I have a successful hammock adventure I give thanks to Shug. If it weren't for his "Hammock Hanging for Noobs & Whatnots" I may never have taken the plunge.

I remember doing a YouTube search for "How to setup a hammock" and of course a slew of Shug videos popped up. One in particular jumped out at me. It's the one where he does a "hammock rap" dressed in rpg glasses and what I call stereotypical 1930s Minnesotan attire. My first thought... who is this goober? Thankfully for me he turned out to not be a goober at all and I have enjoyed every one of his videos except the control line stuff.

He's the reason why I laugh every time I hear Bob Seger's 'Night Moves'. I find myself singing "...night dook, oooooo!" I don't remember the video but I gotta find that now. Had to do with the nighttime constitutional.

Thanks to ol Shug, I most certainly have a greater appreciation for boiling, getting up early (EARLY!), and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks a good coffee and brrrekfaaast from the hammock is one of the best parts of being outdoors.
