i am pretty sure it is personal preference, i have a dream hammock that is 76 ish wide, just feels more comfortable to me, but i also have a cheaper standard wide which feels good too, but my cheaper double wide does nothing for me. i think it just depends on what you like and brand maters a lot as well.
