FYI....the staff at Yankee Springs Rec Area have some events going on next weekend.

Friday, Oct 11th 6-8pm: Centennial Campfire Storytelling Project. Gather around the campfire to hear tales of Michigan’s great outdoors! Hosted by Michigan Runner Girl Heather Durocher, the event will feature four professional storytellers with time for audience members to share two minute anecdotes of their own Michigan state park memories. Please meet at the Roosevelt Beach Pavilion and bring your own camp chairs. Picnics welcome. Saturday, Oct 12 - All Day Event: This event is perfect for the whole family and includes fun activities like children's games, educational activities, trick-or-treating and a campsite decorating contest. On Friday evening there will be a Centennial Campfire Storytelling event that is open to the public. All other activities will occur in the Gun Lake Modern Campground and are for registered campers only. A full schedule of activities will be available upon check-in. We will be there around 10PM on Thursday night. Leaving Raleigh at 9AM. We will be at lot D71, stop by and see us.
