+1 - I'm a relative newcomer and went right to a one piece - I think it was a great choice- can't imagine struggling with two pieces, and bump in the middle and all.

Wallhalla hammocks made a custom one for my 13' winterdream, and I'm about to order another one!

I've never had that problem with either a 2-piece nylon or 1 piece mesh from Simply Light Designs. Both have cord-locks w/ very small diameter cord on the larger ends which once cynched down, do not slip and let the tarp out.

Same here! No sewing machine for me, so I came up with a fix using what I had.

Just get a velcro strap an cinch it down where they overlap. I have the Hennessey Snakeskins and they don't come apart though.

I went the long way around and ended up where you are.

I started with HH Snake Skins with the wires at the centers. Then tried a two-piece mesh. Then a one-piece silnylon. Finally, I got a one-piece mesh sleeve, and I'm never going back. It's actually much faster to pack and deploy than two-piece sleeves.

^^^^^ Almost what I did... I had both one and two piece DCF skins before finally going to a one piece mesh for both tarps.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

Yep, one piece is the only way to go. Grab it and pull it half way if you need to on a windy day.
