Another for the Stingerz route. So easy, light and simple. No thought required and can do with gloves.

I have been using Stingerz pretty much from day one just because of the simplicity but I have run into those situations where I just needed a tad more line as weaver2469 said so I think I am going to play around with wasps just to experiment a bit. After all, you can't have too much Dutch bling!
Instead of the standard bury at the end of the Stingerz line, I put a locked brummel so that I can larks head an extension on if necessary. I keep a couple of dog bones made out of amsteel or zing it in my kit that can be used for all kinds of things like extending my tarp suspension, a long porch mode tie out, or hanging up something.
Hey Shug! Chris from Sweden here. Been enjoying your videos a great deal! I just bought the same setup with one fly on each end of my hex tarp. How does it hold up in high winds when you just let the lines go around the trees on both sides of the tarp (forming the V's) rather than wrapping them around the trees?
In here looking for answer and found this thread. Just off AT Sunday night in VA, high wind, using Stingerz both ends, but unlike videos I see in here, attaching to my tarp with split rings. One end opened up, pulled out. It is wire of course. But I never ever thought that was a weak point. The videos I see today in this thread have Stingerz attached to D rings. So, what do I do? I seem to remember someone saying that split ring had done its job and saved the tarp? Do I replace my split rings with cord? recommendations?
just ordered new rings from Nama Gear coming to me priority mail so I can go; if there is a better option, let me know. I think I may have screwed up by replacing the split rings, tiny, that came with the tarp with bigger ones so I could grab in the dark and the rain and wind with more security as I put the Stingerz on. I now leave them on. Anyway, glad you guys are here

I’ve gone through a number of different iterations of ridge lines. I’m currently using 2 Dutch Flyz which are on a 12 foot piece of zing it. Each Zing it line has a locked Brummel loop on the end of it which is larks headed to the D rings on the tarp.
There are so many different ways to set up ridge lines, and as long as it keeps the tarp on the tree none of them are wrong.
As long as you follow the instructions on the card for the Flyz, wasps or stingers your tarp will stay up.
+1 for the Stingerz for the ridgeline, and Fleaz for the guy lines.
I started experimenting with the Wasps recently, as I find they don't require as much line when wrapping around a tree.
I recently switched to Stingerz on the ridgeline. I bring along a wasp or Figure 9 for those instances where I need the extra line.
