Hey everyone I'm really excited to try something new and would love to have you join in the adventure. After discovering that mushroom hunting was legal in state parks I thought of our hometown favorite Channahon State Park and Gedhard State Park. I would like to have a group hang near McKinley Woods Forest Preserve in our usual location and lead a mushroom hunt on Saturday morning. We will be looking specifically for Hen of the Woods (maitake / Grifola frondosa) and Chicken of the Woods (sulfer shelf/ Laetiporus sulphureus) and then incorporate our finds into a Saturday night feast. Vegan friendly but let's go ahead and add meat
Let's review the details:
When? September 20-22, 2019
Where?Channahon, IL Directions are Here <---
How Much? $6/Person/Night. Firewood donations are appreciated but not mandatory
What's up with the food situation? Bring your own, bring something to share, starve, I don't really care but I'll be creating mushroom dishes Saturday Night with our fresh bounty (yes, I'm counting chickens before they hatch)
Where do I sign up? Right Here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing
I hope to see you there and pray for good weather!
