Thanks, all. The trip was indeed a special one, as it was to celebrate my son turning 13 this fall...an invitation from Dad into the next phase of our father-son journey. Hopping in the airplane was a real treat and is a fast way to get to the middle of nowhere quick. Incidentally, my daughter just turned 11 but is already planning here trip with Dad to celebrate here 13th birthday. She's trying to decide between the John Muir trail and skiing...I like the way she's thinking!

How many other planes were there with you? See any backpackers? Or just fly-ins?
We didn't see any backpackers. There was a rafting party that came through, the camp host, a father-son duo, a plane that landed and took right back off, and a couple with their good friend on their way to Oregon. It was quiet by Moose Creek standards, though, as it was the end of rafting season and we were in the lull between the summer and fall traffic.Originally Posted by wsp_scott

Awesome photo, they grow up fast
The airstrip seems to be different from normal wilderness, rafters and I suspect hunters in the fall. Thanks again for the trip report, I never knew that the FS had airstrips maintained in the middle of Wilderness.
