Condensation often forms when the dew point is high, and it falls downward onto your top quilt. It is not surprising that the UQ had little discernible condensation, since it's under you. The more you get out, the more you'll notice the way that weather affects a hammock system. I was out one night in Connecticut and my quilts seemed excessively damp, especially considering it wasn't even raining. However, the humidity was near 100%, and when I turned on my headlamp, I could see moisture coming in under the tarp and settling on my top quilt.
