Looking for suggestions for hiking, camping, etc in Colorado

Planning on flying out to Denver, Colorado in 2 weeks and will be out there for about a week and a half. A group of three adults. We are renting a car. We want to be hammock camping almost every night except maybe the first and last night. We want to at least bag a few of the highest peaks. We also want to do maybe two or three multi day loops. We are all young and healthy and experienced. What recommendations do you have?

Start your research and planning a little earlier than 2 weeks before you leave is my recommendation.
Wow that is a tall order.

RMNP. Hit Garden of the Gods. Leadville area, Alamosa and Great Sand Dune NP, Mesa Verde NP.

During a trip out to Colorado, I camped at Rocky Mountain National Park and then down in Colorado Springs area, I was at Mueller State Park. I easily could have spent a week at both locations.

Lost Creek Wilderness Loop is a couple hours from Denver and no permits are needed, just self register at the trailhead. Be prepared for the difference in hiking at elevation even if your young and healthy though, my son got pretty sick the first day at elevation even though it didn’t affect me (not so young).

So far the plan is gonna be Four Pass Loop in Maroon Bells-Snowmass, Castle and Conundrum Peak, and Northern Indian Peaks Loop. Lookin forward to exploring a new state!

Just a bit of follow up on the trip. We managed to complete the Four Pass Loop, and also summit Castle Peak and Mount Elbert (both 14’ers). The loop and Castle were awesome journeys and highly recommended if you want a challenging adventure. Elbert was nice but seemed less challenging and had less variety and was much more crowded. Colorado in general was amazing and we will be going back many times!

Definitely! The loop was a beautiful trail IMHO. For Elbert and Castle Peak, we base camped near the trailheads and slack-packed the summits. There was one night when we cowboy camped because my buddies started getting affected by the altitude and we had to call it a day where there weren’t any trees. It was just before the first pass for us, which was Maroon Pass. Not a fan of going to ground, but it was a beautiful location to do it at though!
