I've always avoided it, and this coming Labor Day Weekend was the first one I have ever planned to get out... This whole thread is making me really contemplate wether that was a good idea or not

The big appeal was low moon light, I like to do astrophotography and had big plans to get a shot of Red Castle with the stars behind it. I suppose there's an upside of it being a 12mi hike in, so there's no worry of motors, but the destination is quite popular and I'm considering changing routes to somewhere less traveled. I had planned on heading out early tomorrow morning, here's hoping it's not terrible.

I'm heading to the lake to stay cool. Backpacking season is getting closer and closer but still a month or two away.

Same here, decided to hold off and finish my deck project. Then I'll be doing two big trips only a week apart anyway so I'll save for that. Lows in the 30s and 40s. Patchy frost starting. Come on early fall colors!!

Sticking in town this weekend due to everyone in the family having committments. Gotta work on my "to do" list at home after only spending two weekends in-town since mid June. Between backpacking and spending time at the family cottage on the lake, summer went fast.

Looks like a busy fall ahead with a 5 day trip planned the end of Septenber plus other outings!

Where are you that frost is forecast? Our first frost is typically around Thanksgiving.

Looking at northern MI, the usual highlands area to see it first, inland from the lakes. SUCK ON THAT MOSQUITOES!
