We are proud to be part of the Old Dominion Hangers.

The Park is less than an hour south of DC and hour or so north of Richmond and less than 2 hours from Charlottesville.

    Directions

We will be hanging in the Oak Ridge Campground. 'A' loop, Centered around sites A 25-35. 'B' loop is also available for reservations.

The park is hammock friendly and can accomodate up to four hangers per site. The caveat is just two cars per site. There is overflow parking nearby. The park has a 1.5" strap requirement but double wrapping the tree counts. Trees must be 6" in diameter.

    Costs
There is a $10 fee per car.
Each site is $20 per night, all paid on the honor system at the campground. If we group up with around 4 hangers per site, that works out to $5 per person a night.

The sites are on a first come / first serve basis. This time of year the park is fairly empty.

There are several hiking trails through the park and other things to do.

    Food
Saturday breakfast. - Yojimbo will be cooking French Toast for all. Additions will be welcome.

Saturday's dinner - Potluck. In the past food was out of this world (sorta like a nova).

Don't forget to add your contributions to the sign-up page.

    Other notes
In years past the temps have ranged from the 20s to 50s. One year we were in shorts. Welcome to VA weather.

There’s a heated bathroom building within 50 yards of the campsites with hot showers. And this is a NICE bathhouse. Trust me.

Here is a map of the park. Please note the campground is at the other end of the park from the entrance. It takes about 25 minutes just to get through the park.
