Tell me about UL suspension options

I'm pretty new to hammocking, but I'm having a lot of fun trying out some new (to me) things. I like ropes and knots, so I'm intrigued by some of the UL hardware-less setups. I'm not sure which ones I should try out. How much difference is there between, say Dynaweave and Spider? Do some hold knots better? What do you like?

This is one where everyone has an opinion. I like the Hummingbird style of suspension. This is where a UCR or Whoopie sling is permanently attached to a minimal length tree strap. It is similar to the Marlin Spike set up... without the Marlin Spike.

I do not like kevlar or dyneema trees traps. They have little cross-strap strength and tend to roll up and cut like rope.

At least that is my $0.02.

Check out Myerstech Hammock Lab on FB or eBay. His stuff is awesome, and he has the best prices. Personally, I use UHMWPE webbing with a Becket hitch. My two 12' straps with Evo Loop tree connectors weighs only 67g.

Lots of viable options. I've tried a bunch (although far from all!) and settled upon Kevlar tree straps and Lapp Hitch to attach straps to CL. Straps are attached to tree by either feeding straps thru sewn loops or using Slipped Buntline.

+1 on Myerstech Hammock Lab... if you're a knot guy, Jeff has some pretty creative solutions for the hammock.

Thanks for the replies. They definitely give me some options to explore. How do some of the UHMWPE straps that are in the 3g/ft range compare to the 1.5-2g/ft stuff, like Dynaweave?

I just switched up my suspension for the first time in a long time and im liking it so far.
Pair of spider webbing 1.5 15' length, with a pair of those warbonnet hooks. Weighs 1.7oz just tie a becket hitch to my hammock.
My old UCRs were easy, had 4 whoopie hooks from dutch on the pair, 7/64 amsteel, 15' long, was about 2.2oz I think.

I think I might have to get a pair of those fishhooks.

I like Warbonnet dynaweave straps with fish hooks becket hitched to EvoLoops. The straps are light, so I go with a full 15 feet. The fish hooks are much smaller, lighter, and more appropriate for UL straps than Dutch’s alternative. The UL straps are more appropriate for knots. The EvoLoops are more appropriate for the Becket hitch because it gives you a knob to grab to loosen it up when untying and I believe it increases it’s holding strength before slipping too. It’s probably a little better water breaker as well.

So, you swap out the continuous loop with evoloops on your hammock?
