What is your ideal hammock setup?

I've been away from the forum for several years (life stuff, nothing dramatic or interesting). I'm hoping this question will yield the many advancements that have arisen since I was last active on the forums.

    Welcome back!

My ideal setup (after trying many popular "better" outfits) is my DIY orange Hexon 1.0, 11.5', noseeum mesh footbox, w/Lash-it rideline and Amsteel CL's. Dyneema straps, connected to the hammock via J-Bend. Tarp is from Hammockgear: Dyneema Palace in camo. Net is a Fronkey-style.

    UQ is either a Phoenix in 20 w/overstuff or 40, or a 20 Incubator w/overstuff.

So only the camo tarp is kinda newish and innovative. I love it all more than anything else I've tried. Comfortable, versatile, and suits me to a "T". I guess I do have a few different dyneema straps that are newer from a few vendors.

I would really like to try a under quilt at some point. A longer hammock or a wider one for me would be nice. Mine tends to make the heels of my feet sorr from laying in there for a while.

My goto for the last few years has been:
WB Blackbird XLC Heavyweight Double Layer
    WB 20 Degree Wookie UQ
    EE Enigma 20 Degree TQ
    Dutchwear Beetle Buckle Suspension
    WB Thunderfly
Pair of Dutchwear Tarp Flyz with 12' of Zing-It for tarp ridgeline
    Hammock Gear Tarp Sleeve
    Dutchwear Ridgeline Organizer

I recently picked up an Eldorado in the new fabric and a MtnFly during the last Warbonnet sale. I slept in the Eldorado during summer camp and really like the new fabric so this fall backpacking setup will be:
WB Eldorado Single Layer 40D (Love the new fabric)
    WB 20 Degree Wookie UQ
    EE Enigma 20 Degree TQ
    Dutchwear Beetle Buckle Suspension
WB Mountain Fly (I just needed a little bit more coverage than the Thunder Fly gave me)
Pair of Dutchwear Tarp Flyz with 12' of Zing-It for tarp ridgeline
    Hammock Gear Tarp Sleeve
Hammock Gear Ridgeline Organizer (I like the stiffness the velcro gives this organizer over the Dutchwear Organizer)

My son also got an Eldorado (70D). Will be replacing his HG Net-less Hammock and ENO bug net with it and replacing a HG Quest tarp with the Thunder Fly. Also changed out his continuous ridgeline for the Tarp Flyz/Zing-It setup.

My long term goal it to have a 40 or 50 Degree UQ and TQ for spring and fall but overall I am very happy with my setup.

Oh, and I did pick up an REI Flexlite Air Chair for backpacking and love it.

My go to setup right now is:
11' DH Darien in Mtn 1.2- 64" wide
    12' UHMWPE straps w/Evo Loops w/becket hitch
12' HG Dyneema tarp w/doors inside 1-piece snakeskin
    DIY CDT UQ & TQ
    SLD Apex Pillow

Once the weather cools down, I'll swap my CDT quilts for my 20° Loco Libre Saver Series Habanero & Serrano.

I am smitten to my DIY 1.0 Monolite Half Wit... most comfortable fabric I have tried thus far, second is 1.6 Hyper D.

HG 40F Phoenix UQ and June Bug 50F TQ (just added)

2.2 or 1.9 Kevlar straps with an evo loop at tree end, and becket hitch to Dynaglide CL's

HG DCF Standard w/ doors. ZPacks 1.2 Reflective ZLine & Tarp Worms all around.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

Wow amac 2008 you must be one of the original members. Welcome back. The biggest changes have been in the material they make hammocks with. Also, 11' hammocks have really taken off as super comfortable since they pretty much eliminate the calf ridge many got with 10 footers. I can't think of much more, oh wait that who can survive with the tinyest of tarps fad is over now most use something with a bit more coverage, maybe even a set of door or two. haha
