Dolly Sods, West Virginia, April 16 , 2 Day in and out.

Finally posting my first trip report. But not my first trip. I don't know why I haven't been to the Dolly Sods yet, my daughter has been wanting to go for years. Unfortunately she and my son backed out last minute. That didn't stop me!!

Only did a short loop. I'm a little out of shape, and I really wanted to take it easy and just enjoy being out on the trail.

Set up camp and about an hour later three hikers came in and said " oh man we were hoping to camp here. Well I happy you got this spot at least". I think that was the nicest way to say your in my spot. I love trail people.

Reply: Sorry, I guess you'll have to make do with the rest of the 17,371 acres. Good luck!

I've been wanting to check this place out. It's right on the edge of not wanting to drive that far, but doable. Glad you got out to hang!

Trust me Its worth the trip. Ran into a groups from New York who were happy the made the trip down. And I can't say enough about hiking in the adarondacks. Anyway the Dolly Sods have been on my hiking bucket list for years.
