I was fortunate to spend the first decade of my FS wilderness career working the Bob (aka Bog Marshes), Great Bear (before it was the Great Bear), Scapegoat, and Missions. Then I moved on to the Absaroka-Beartooths and finally Wyoming's Teton Wilderness. That doesn't count the playtime when I wasn't working. Lot of excellent memories and friends made back in them hills.
This hike was really a dream come true for me. I have actually been talking about doing a trip with Joey for a few years. As his channel grew, he had more and more people wanting to go with him, and he was/is constantly out in the backcountry, so I gave up on it. Then he got back in touch with me this past winter and we actually set a date for this trip. I had never met the other guys before we met to drive to the trailhead. I grew up in Alabama. This trail was my first peak at the West for backpacking. That was 1976 in 1980 I moved to Denver and have lived here ever since.
Oh I hammock camped back then as well.

I think that all of the dead trees in that section are from an old fire burn. Not 100% sure on that though
