I was fortunate to spend the first decade of my FS wilderness career working the Bob (aka Bog Marshes), Great Bear (before it was the Great Bear), Scapegoat, and Missions. Then I moved on to the Absaroka-Beartooths and finally Wyoming's Teton Wilderness. That doesn't count the playtime when I wasn't working. Lot of excellent memories and friends made back in them hills.

How is it that you came in contact with the 3 guys you did the trip with?

My dad & 2 brothers did a trip to the Bob back in '77 & I regret to this day not going with them on that trip. To say your video report didn't help is an understatement! However, since then, it's been on my bucket list. Gonna have to make it a reality one of these days.
This hike was really a dream come true for me. I have actually been talking about doing a trip with Joey for a few years. As his channel grew, he had more and more people wanting to go with him, and he was/is constantly out in the backcountry, so I gave up on it. Then he got back in touch with me this past winter and we actually set a date for this trip. I had never met the other guys before we met to drive to the trailhead. Turns out they had been talking to Joey for a while as well. They were great to hike with.

WOW! What a place to be stationed! I bet you have some great stories from that time. The Bob is just the first one in that list that I've done now, but I want to hike in all of those areas!

Love your video and what a bear experience to have as they really had no idea you were there. Good thing they were black bears

I grew up in Alabama. This trail was my first peak at the West for backpacking. That was 1976 in 1980 I moved to Denver and have lived here ever since.

Oh I hammock camped back then as well.

Exellent video thank you so much for sharing your trip.

I think that all of the dead trees in that section are from an old fire burn. Not 100% sure on that though

I was hoping to see a griz while in there, but that would've been a little closer that I would've liked!

It's nice to see that it looks pretty much the same now as it did in your photos.
