VIDEO: The Bob Marshall Wilderness - A trip around the Chinese Wall

This was a trip that was a few years in the making.

I'd been trying to hook up with Joey from the MyOwnFrontier You Tube channel for a while. I had also been trying to get into the BOB for years. It all came together this past June.

There were a bunch of firsts for me on this trip, but this was the first trip that I'd been on that I hadn't setup and done all of the planning. This was also the first time I'd backpacked with people I'd never met before.

We ran into thunderstorms, mountains passes, bears, bucking broncs.... and a really big wall.

    It was one to remember.

    Thanks for checking it out!

I used a Go Pro and a couple different cell phones... then there was Joey's footage which was a lot better quality.

Wow. That looked like an amazing trip. I liked the use of the air horn to scare the bear, seemed fairly effective. Happy trails

Thanks for sharing! It is great to see videos from guys with a lot of experience doing it like you and MyOwnFrontier, it's inspired me to start capturing my own backpacking trips

Great trip. I know the feeling of finally getting to see something you've always wanted to. Felt that way last year finally hiking in the Winds.

    Love the video.

The air horn was great! I'm going to add that to my gear when I am in bear country.

I'm not going on this trip, but one of the other guys will be going into the Winds this year, so we should get a video on that in the fall.

Looks like you had a great time in the Bob! Great video & commentary too. Beautiful place.

How is it that you came in contact with the 3 guys you did the trip with?

My dad & 2 brothers did a trip to the Bob back in '77 & I regret to this day not going with them on that trip. To say your video report didn't help is an understatement! However, since then, it's been on my bucket list. Gonna have to make it a reality one of these days.
