Looking for suggestions to hammock camp in extreme heat and high humidity

When it's hot and humid and I must absolutely hang, I travel to where the temps/humidity are bearable. This summer I had the pleasure of visiting the Grand Canyon (S. Rim) at 7000' ASL. High altitude helps with humidity and bugs. Arizona humidity at 25% is perfect for me. If traveling isn't an option, I wait for the weather to get cooler/less humid. I live in Southern Maryland where it is hot and muggy for most of the summer, so I HAVE to travel elsewhere for comfortable hiking. I can't recommend Sedona Arizona enough as a hiking/hanging nirvana in and around the Coconino Forest in Red Rock Country.

Ugh...if I could delay my trip just 2 days:

Monday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 79.

Monday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 54.

Thanks for all the great responses received thus far! I'll definitely insert the suggestions into my repertoire and will report back after I do my next trip. Driving to a place with higher altitude is probably not in the cards due to distance but I already feel I will be better equipped thanks to all the feedback!

Good thread. Thank you all for the advice. I'm headed to the Smokies this weekend to test my new hammock setup. With temps in the 85/65 range I was wondering about warm weather camping.
I'll be trying a combo of white tarp, no under quilt, a pair of old polartec bag liners, and a ground pad if I give up.

I go to my extra bedroom. Move the furniture and hang my hammock from the two eye bolts I have previously installed. I then have air conditioning and a ceiling fan to keep me cool. Also, no bugs. That's what a Georgia boy does when it is is mid 90's everyday.

Good plan! And there's something about ceiling fans...just so soothing and relaxing.

I've lived in some hot places: Lufkin, TX; Tucson, AZ; Montgomery, AL; and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. However, New Jersey at 95* F with darned-near 100% humidity is just about the hottest weather I can remember.

And this weekend is looking more brutal than ever, with an excessive heat warning from Friday noon until Sunday at 10 pm. The heat index values are looking to be 110 on Saturday afternoon before tapering off to 105 on Sunday afternoon. Right now it's 82* F with 96% humidity and you can barely breathe when you go out.

This weekend looks to hit 100* F with an overnight low of 80*F, and you can bet I won't be anywhere near hiking or hammock camping. I've had one heat stroke in my life and don't look forward to a second one!

Thanks for this information and to others who have responded. Would you kindly share where you sourced this particular ridge line fan? I'll compare it against other fans I've been reading about in the other HF threads. If it comes down to lugging something heavy I'll gladly accept the weight penalty if it'll make a difference. Recently I moved to a USB rechargeable headlamp system and I'm hoping to do same with the ridgeline fan if a good option exists.
