I can bring a small charcoal grill if that helps.

Thanks xMagnolia for the great heads up and you ain't kidding, down right uncivilized! I'll bring my own grill, charcoal, water, small table, chair and cooler. What time do the earliest of the early birds show up? I may overnight somewhere below Birmingham on Thursday night, but I don't want to be the first one there and maybe set up in the wrong place!

Yes, please. The use of the one burner would be most profoundly appreciated. They are most amazing over cornbread (my favorite way). Consider them done for Saturday night. If it's wet and just a little chill, they should pick everybody right up.

And most importantly, we will bring food.

I will be there Friday afternoon with the following culinary intentions. Friday night I intend to make jagerschnitzel with German dumplings. It's a weird dish and I'll probably only be able to sample a few people. Depending on what Charlotte says I will do a large breakfast casserole in the morning on either Saturday or Sunday. Saturday night I intend to open a whiskey bar and I'll make mixed drink for anybody who is interested. Refills are possible as well as an extensive meat and cheese plate.

Divinity: My estimated Drive time is 11-13 hours. I'm planning on leaving early Thursday, so depending on weather and traffic, I may not stay in a hotel Thursday. Glad to hear you and yours will be there on Thursday, I could skip the hotel. Looking for any good BBQ stops along the way, any suggestions? I'll be coming up I-65 through Montgomery to Birmingham then Jasper.
