    Diamondback Temp Ratings?

Anybody put their Diamondback TQ's temp rating to the test yet? Although I primarily hammock, I'm looking to get a 20* Diamondback primarily for use as a bag for UL/lightweight, tarp & bivy backpacking. I consider myself a "neutral" sleeper temp wise, a 20* comfort rating takes me to 20*. Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Curious as well. I'm trying to decide between the Diamondback and the Katabatic quilt. Things I like about both. Diamondback is more customizable though.

Same two as well. I've heard nothing but good on the Katabatic temp ratings, but like you, the ability to have the WB made specific to my wants is drawing me in that direction.

I've never seen a Katabatic quilt except on their website and on review videos. Have always heard they were true to their temperature rating and have always read rave reviews. The Outdoor Gear Lab review is the only review that I have read that did not rate it as the top shelf quilt. They actually rated the Enlightened Equipment quilt higher. I think Enlightened Equipment recently started adding more down in their standard quilts. I have a synthetic quilt from them and it's been a good quilt for Summer. Be sure and share your experiences if you buy either one. Thanks. Looks like we are in similar climate regions.

I have a Diamondback 20 with 1 oz overstuff, 10D inside and out. Lowest I’ve had mine down to is 17 degrees, light wind with a single-layer Eldorado, WB Thunderfly Tarp, and standard 20 degree Wooki underquilt. Wore 150 merino bottom and top, Blackrock down beanie, fleece neck gaiter, and heavyweight Smartwool socks.

I slept warm. I think I could’ve taken it a bit lower with an underquilt protector.

I haven’t used it on the ground yet, sorry.

Thanks y'all, big help, and Brandon just got back to me with this:

Basically rated for an “average” sleeper to be comfortable enough to sleep, not necessarily warm and comfortable but not so cold you cant sleep either

Cold or warm sleepers add or subtract 10 deg

So, answered my question as an "average" sleeper. Going to place an order for a Custom 20° Diamondback.
